My wife had formerly done business with Nick from this place and had nothing but great things to say. So, after we bought a used car and it needed service, Nick's new business which is now going under the name of "Auto Service Express of Debary", got our business. After doing some preliminary tests myself on the car (a 2001 VW Beetle), I had decided the the water pump had gone out since our major problem was engine overheating and I had done multiple tests on the water pump that showed that the water pump was most probably the culprit. After talking to Nick on the phone about the problem, he had assured me that my tests were wrong because his diagnostic tests had shown him that the water pump was fine. There was another problem too as the cooling fans (which I had decided to repair on my own) were not working correctly. In Nick's words, he told me that "as soon as your fan problem is corrected, your cooling system will be fine. The day I repaired the fans, my car overheated to the point where some of the parts made of ABS plastic had failed and the majority of the car's coolant was on the ground. This happened less than one mile from my house. After this, I decided to take my Beetle to Napleton's VW sales and service in Sanford. After doing all of the diagnostic repairs for free (with the use of one of their coupons), Napleton's had found that the Beetle had a faulty water pump. We were charged with parts and labor to fix the cooling problem by Auto Service Express of Debary just under $400 for thermostats that had nothing to do with the water pump and we also were given the "cold shoulder" when we told this company that they had misdiagnosed the problem (which I told them was the problem on day one). We were offered no compensation at all even though Napleton's believed me about the water pump and found the problem within an hour. On top of that, Napleton's supplied us with a loaner car while they repaired the water pump (as it was going to take them overnight) and told us in the nicest way that we had been ripped off by Auto Service Express of Deltona as they did things from backwards to forwards and did almost nothing to help our cooling system. Oh...and these people also wanted us to buy cooling fans for over $200 to repair our cooling fans that had burned out motors. The cooling fan motors ended up being less than 6 months old and simply had a loose wire. Do not let these people rip you off. Many other companies out there may charge you a bit more, but at least you have a chance of them being honest and fixing REAL problems instead of making up problems and not knowing what they are talking about especially when their customers (me) tell them the problem before the hood was even opened on the car. These guys are scam artists 100%.
