Amazing business! Run well, Colin is awesome to work with and understanding. They are small but good at what they do so they are busy and often full a week out, but work case by case. Honest in their communications and prices.

Called them on 2-21-22 to see if they could fix a driver window that won’t go up,a radiator hose leak and see why sometimes it wouldn’t start right away on my boyfriends 2001 dodge Dakota sport. Took it to them on 2-24-22 for the scheduled diagnostic and also left a $500 deposit thinking that would cover pretty much everything but didn’t hear back until 2-25-22 @6 after they closed and after a voicemail asking what was found. They said spark plugs may fix the issue of starting, the top radiator hose needed changed but the bottom one was still good enough but they could change it too. The window regulator needed changed and also it needed new shocks, a battery housing and new rear tires abs a gas cap. Colin told me it would be another $550 and a week until all work would be finished said yes at first but then discussed and changed our mind and called first thing Saturday 7 am thinking we would hear back first thing Monday 2-28-22 but was wrong instead we go in as soon as they open to pick up truck and find out no one listened to my voicemails and was told it was gonna cost $208 for the diagnostic and some pressure test we never asked for. Basically we almost paid $1050 for a tune up that MIGHT make the truck run better. Instead we stopped all work got $292 back and they were still trying to get me to allow them to do the work. Told them no. We took it to a neighbor friend/mechanic cost us less than $500 in parts and labor and only took him a couple hours. Autotailor in our eyes are crooks. They over charged us just because we were able to put down a deposit. They tried fixing things on the truck we never asked them to look at. They do not communicate with customers at all all they see them for is dollar signs. Do not take ur vehicle to them you will not get what needs fixed or you will pay am arm and a leg for simple repairs.

Brent, Colin and the rest of the staff have always been honest about what needs to be done and how much it’ll cost. They do their best to avoid unnecessary tests. They always explain what’s wrong, the timeframe it’ll take to repair or if it’s not urgent how long I should wait to bring my car in.

I made the mistake of going to the dealership first. Having learned my lesson, I looked online to find a good repair shop for my BMW and Autotailor had lots of good reviews so I decided to give them a try. I’m so glad I did! My car decided to turn into a giant puzzle where all sorts of random things would go wrong. They were able to ferret out the root cause and fix everything. The shop was in constant communication with me throughout the process, letting me know what they were finding, suggesting the path forward, giving me reasonable estimates and a ballpark timetable for when the repairs would be done. I got my car back and it runs like new, looks cleaner than when I brought it there and with no billing surprises. I can’t recommend them enough!

2006 Jetta TDI - car broke down and my routine mechanic recommended Autotailor, they supposedly specialize in foreign/German cars. I had it towed there, where it sit for a week and a half then I received a text that the inspection was complete and the repair would be about $4500. This cost was more than the car is worth, or approximately the same cost, so I didn't move forward with the repair. Once I was given a verbal description of the issue I called a few other mechanics and each was less than half of the cost for repair. When I showed up to get my car Autotailor charged me $221 for the inspection, over the phone he said he did quite a bit of work and had to take the car apart. When i showed up they told me the repair was only $3600, not $4500 like they said over the phone. The inspection report also noted they didn't take the car fully apart, rather used a boroscope to inspect it and find the issue. There was never any discussion beforehand that there would be such a large charge just of looking at the car. I ended up towing the car from Autotailor to another mechanic who did the job for $1800. If you use this place I would recommend getting a clarification of the costs up front since if you don't do the overpriced work they recommend then you'll end up paying a huge cost for inspection. Save yourself time, money and a headache and take your car somewhere else. Sincerely, Totally Disappointed Customer
