Had and excellent experience here today. No other shops could see an urgent issue for days and they got me in and out in no time, super friendly, showed me the issue and explained it. All at a super fair price too!

Brought in car to get a second opinion about how many hours to replace a needed cooling part for my Outback Subaru and was originally quoted by another local garage 5.5 to 6 hrs labor + $200.00 for part. I got a quote from Bourne's for 3.5 hours and I will provide the part which is Subaru OEM and this will save me a bunch of money. Bourne's was honest about the needed repair and courteous as well. They also did not charge me for the evaluation of labor for future repair. So far I will be bringing my car there for future work. They seem very reputable.

I have never written a bad review for a local business. It is not my MO at all, but in this case I think folks should know our experience. My girlfriend had been taking her Honda CR-V to Bournes for over a year. We liked their customer service. It is not an intimidating shop to get help from. In December, she took her car in for an oil change and paid $400 for additional work they said it needed. When she picked the car up, the car was making a squealing sound that it wasn’t making before. Upon bringing the car back in, she was quoted $800 to replace the power steering pump. Ultimately they were able to salvage the pump, so she only had to pay $200. Most recently, we took her car in to get an inspection and were surprised to learn that the car needed all four brake pads and rotors (which Bourne’s replaced exactly a year ago), two new struts, and a sway bar (sway bars do not break. I have never heard of replacing anything but bushings and links on a sway bar. We were also told the front left strut was leaking and needed replacement. They quoted us about $2,500 for the work. On top of this, they quoted us $360 for each strut. I looked up the OEM part online and found pairs (not single ones as we were quoted) for anywhere from $120-$150. When I told the person at Bournes on the phone and asked how much they mark up their parts he said “I don’t know, the computer does all that.” Pure obfuscation. I called around and found another shop who could do the work and inspection for $1,060. When we picked the car up before taking it to the other shop, Bourne’s charged us $70 for the failed inspection. When we took the car to the other shop, they let me know that the struts and rear brakes did not need to be replaced to pass inspection. All in all, we ended up saving over $2,000 by not using Bournes. Needless to say we will not be supporting Bournes in the future. They hide behind a facade of approachable customer service. In reality, I am confident they convince some of their customers into paying for work that is unneeded, and at the very least they markup their parts by more than 400% in this case.

Very quick appointment. Attention to issues at hand and others that may need attention. Our air conditioner belt broke in really hot weather and got us in within two days. Very happy with the service I received. Had to wait for my vehicle and they also have a very comfortable waiting room.
