The man at the front desk was absolutely amazing as well I extremely appreciated his nice gesture of paying for my oil change. Was totally unexpected and made my whole week. You guys are awesome! Came in for only 2 tires, found the tires I asked for and gave me a price I couldn't say no too. Ordered 4 tires and great service as always. Highly recommend Car-X in Ankeny. Recent visit for a tire leak, no charge and great price for new rotors and pads. Under New Management. Stop in and see Car-X On a previous visit Car-x replaced my battery and a battery terminal. Apparently the terminal part they replaced was defective and it caused my truck not to start several months later. I had it towed into the dealer where they replaced the battery terminal with a NOS part. When I came into Car-x for an oil change and tire rotation I made the service manager aware of the defective part they installed. He made it right by comping my service bill for that day and giving me coupons for three additional oil changes. This was all handled in a friendly and professional manner. Polite, fast, and accommodating for the wait. I had asked for an alignment for high speed vibrations and they found the issue was a much cheaper tire balance. Money saved, and they’ve agreed to fix if I’m not satisfied. Great first experience at CarX! Amazing customer service and great communication from Chad today about an oil change, tire rotation, and alignment check on my car. Being a woman in an auto shop can sometimes feel intimidating because there’s so many opportunities to get screwed over due to lack of information or general car know-how — when they didn’t have the oil filter I needed, they let me know; when we rescheduled, they offered a sizable discount for my time; when I was late to the rescheduled appointment, they worked with me to make sure things could still get done.Thank you for making me feel like a valued customer and keeping the line of communication clear and open. I really appreciate the team at the Ankeny Car-X location and I’ll definitely be back for all of my future tire and auto shop needs. There’s always a stigma around car repair shops…you go in for an oil change, and when you go to pay for it they tell you that you need about 600 other repairs (in an effort to rip you off). You know the stereotype. But that’s not true here. Every time I have come in, the workers are unbelievably kind and friendly…like beyond what you would ever expect at a repair shop. Plus, they’ve never told me about unnecessary repairs, but instead giving me honest assessments of my car. I will definitely continue to come here in the future! Jeff and Steve were awesome!!!! The were very professional and prompt. They listened to what I had to say and were able to figure out what was wrong and gave me a very fair price to fix my truck. Thanks again I will be recommending you guys to my whole family. They were ready to close and Arvin and Lindsey still welcomed me in for a last-minute oil change. Arvin was concerned I have the oil changed before I take a trip this weekend. He then went over the minor things they found, one of them being a headlight out - which I had forgotten all about. I asked if they did that kind of thing - for another time bkz I knew they were closed. Not only do they do that, they went ahead and did it for me right then. Bless their hearts!! Personal service from a chain business - what a great concept! :)Sara O Went to shop with my Volvo s80 to find out about a leak in radiator and my Ford exp for an oil change. When Nick took the car back he said he would take us back when they find the source of leak. Unfortunately, the pressure blew the hose to radiator. (Which did have a leak). Nick showed us what happened and then priced out parts for a new radiator. I was upset at the fact I was having to buy one that day but Nick really worked with us and found the best part but didn't charge the high price and gave us an additional discount. Once that was taken care of he then had the Ford in shop doing an oil change. We were going out of town the next morning and unfortunately the trucks a/c wasn't working. I mentioned that to him and he said he would take a look at it. After a bit he came and told us the a/c had zero freon, he then went ahead and charged the AC for us and had it blowing cold at No charge. I was so happy that he went above and beyond to help us. Not all auto shops will do that!!! I live in Grimes but will definitely drive to Ankeny for all my auto needs!!! I am thoroughly impressed with this place! I had no choice but to come in here last minute due to my work schedule (5:30pm.) My front brakes were shot and needed to be replaced (along with the rotors.) Instead of turning me away, one of the technicians and one of the mechanics stayed to make sure that it was done!! Also, Lindsey was fantastic in explaining everything in a thorough manner. Very professional and very efficient!! I will definitely be back! Thanks, Car-X!

Asked for 1 qt. oil to be added, coolant to be added, and tires pressure check. Explained I was too old to do this minor work myself any longer. They changed the oil without asking if OK to do it. Then when I got home I read the invoice they gave me was for a different person and different vehicle. Makes me wonder what really was done. I will be shopping for better service elsewhere,
