On the plus side: the service writers were prompt and cordial. They had our vehicle history ready at hand. They performed the requested services within that same day. They kept a record of needed services that we declined on this visit. Neutral: as they stated themselves they are not the cheapest nor the most expensive. They helped us understand the reasons. Not a walk-away issue. Not so good: When we picked up our car there was a scent of tobacco. We don't use tobacco, and a smell was not there before we brought it in. We will return, but if the smoke smell continues, we likely won't.

First and foremost allow me to make this very clear... I do not give 5 stars lightly, they have to be earned; Patric and his crew earned every single star and then some. We had contacted 1st choice from a list of choices on the web. I know nothing about the options here in Knoxville as we do not live here. Patrick got us in the same day and fixed what we all thought was the issue with in 5 hours. We went home and we were happy with our service. The next morning I started our truck and the same service repair notice popped up, so I called Patrick back asap and he was concerned that the previous issue had not been resolved as we all had thought. But he got right on it. He got a tow truck to pick up our truck so we would not have to miss work and got right on it. We decided to go ahead and have the other issues fixed as well instead of waiting a week and he made sure everything was right and tight. We love our avalanche and wanted someone who loved cars as much as we do to work on our baby. Our fist choice turned out to be the right and only choice for us. We HIGHLY recommend 1st choice automotive and especially 1st choice at 9009 Oak Ridge Hwy in Knoxville, TN. Patrick is someone who will treat your baby as he would his own. Not recommended at this time. Beware unprofessional, and pushy. They do a nice oil change, and I had hoped new management would be less pushy about extra services. Alas, that isn't the case. Nathan tried to push me on regularly scheduled servicing and brake work despite my informing him I had my own mechanic for those needs should the brakes actually need done (my mechanic disagrees with Nathan and First Choice). I declined, so then he stood there and said "well, that's ok if you want to drive risky". I replied "Excuse me? A bit pushy today aren't we?" His response was, if I were being pushy, you'd spend the money to do the work. Seriously? Are you kidding me? Might be the most rude oil change business I've ever been to. I won't even go into what he continued to say to me as I picked up my receipt and keys just moments later. Do yourself and a favor and don't go there. You won't be happy with how rude and pushy they are. Very unprofessional, not to mention they routinely take an hour plus just to do an oil change, and that's on days you have a scheduled appointment.

Immediately after buying a used heavy duty truck from a local dealership I found that the truck pulled to the right. I asked the dealership to fix the alignment problem and they agreed. When I got the truck back I was told it was a ball joint issue and that those needed to be replaced. When I got the truck back it did not pull to the right, but had sloppy steering and would even wobble at interstate speeds. I took it to First Choice Auto and they found the half-effort handiwork of the dealership mechanics, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it. They also found damage to the brake rotors that the dealership either didn’t find (because they didn’t actually fix the truck) or they didn’t feel the need to tell me. I 100% recommend First Choice Auto. Thanks guys!
