Owner and technician Dick Guider first opened the doors of Hidden Valley Automotive in 1978. As the oldest, continually owned full-service automotive facility in Scotts Valley, generations of local residents have come to depend on Hidden Valley to keep their vehicles safe, reliable, and performing efficiently. "Years back, Hidden Valley did a complete engine rebuild on my Porsche, and at a very fair price — it's great that they have their own machine shop. Recently, my Honda Accord developed a slight shifting problem. I thought I would need to go to a Scotts Valley transmission repair shop, but I thought I would first speak with Dick. Glad I did. First he did a test drive — they are known for diagnosing engine problems and transmission problems. They found the problem rather quickly. It was the solenoid pack that needed replacing, and it only cost me about $285. These guys are honest and great car mechanics!"

I have been going to Hidden Valley for 30 years and I have always been thoroughly happy with their service. They have fixed every problem with all of the vehicles in the family. They are so easy to work with and are really nice people. They have won my loyalty.

My 2014 Mini runs like new! Hidden Valley seems to be one of a few auto shops near Santa Cruz who understand Minis. Old school shop, excellent service and a lot easier than going to the Mini dealer.
