My builder used this company for the electric work on our new construction. We did a walk through with the electrician and builder and I asked for cat 6 wiring in various rooms for high speed internet and we paid extra for this. The roughs were done. When then came back to do the finals, they put in RJ11 jacks instead of RJ45 or combo for phone and ethernet port. I saw the jacks and realized that the ethernet plug would not fit as it was a telephone jack. I notified the builder and he said the electrician didn't have the right jacks so they put in the telephone jacks to get a CO and they needed to switch them. That never happened. Now we can't get the electrician to come back to fix it. I spoke to another electrician and he said a lay person would never know to ask about jacks... and that "if a homeowner asks for cat 6 wiring its for high speed internet so if a homeowner says they cat6 wiring any halfway intelligent electrician would know that the jacks should be different and the material cost is in the wiring, not the jacks so it makes no sense to use rj11 jacks with cat 6 wires." Additionally, the electricians ran the cat6 wires to the outside of the house along with the cable wires. The cable wires outside is apparently not an issue, but the cat 6 wires need to connect to a modem/router which must be inside. Who would have ever expected the electrician to run internet wires outside and by the time we realized it, they were long gone, so now i have to pay a new electrician to come and fix this company's work... which I had already paid extra for. Oh, and I have a number of single pole switches that you have to flip down to turn on and up to turn off. I guess I needed to tell them that I wanted to flip the switch up to turn it on. So if you are extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of electric work and can spell out in detail from start to finish, along with all the proper components that you need, then these guys will be fine. If you want to be able to explain to a licensed electrician what you are looking to accomplish and have that person know what to do to get the job done right, then look elsewhere.
