Corona, You and your car.

Dear Friends of Ocean Street,

We don’t need to tell you that we are in uncharted territory regarding this Corona Virus. But with that said, there are many things we can do to minimize the effects of this disease on ourselves, our families, friends, neighbors and coworkers. At Ocean Street we value your health and safety. We believe we can continue to safely fix your car and keep you on the road by following some simple precautions.

First, no one here is sick or has been in contact with anyone that is sick.  If that changes, we will let you know.

Second, our normal practice is to wear gloves when we work on your car and to change them frequently and after every job. We will continue this practice to ensure that we and you stay safe.

Third, we have cleaned and disinfected public areas of the shop thoroughly and we continue to do so.

Forth, we are disinfecting surfaces on the interior of your vehicle that we contact. This is mostly the dash and the steering wheel.

Apart from coming to work we are all observing the guidelines of social distancing and limiting our activities to essential things like grocery shopping.

If you are at all concerned, we also encourage you to call us to schedule an appointment and drop off your car after hours. You can leave the keys in our locked drop box.

You are our friends and neighbors as well as our customers. We are committed to keeping you safe and keeping you on the road.

Ocean Street Auto Repair has been helping people in South Portland, Portland and Scarborough keep their cars running great since 1976. Lots of things have changed under the hood over the past 40 years. Carburetors are out. Fuel injectors are in. Plugs and points are gone. Everything is electronic. Cars are increasingly becoming more like computers. One thing that hasn’t changed though is that customers still like to know and trust the person who’s working on their car. At Ocean Street Auto Repair that guy is Ted Abbott. He’s been helping customers keep their vehicles in top operating condition at Ocean Street for the past ten years. Now he owns the business.

Ted is an ASE Certified Mechanic. That means he has kept up to date with the changing technology. He has the experience, skills and tools needed to diagnose and repair most every make, model and year of car. Ted will always give you the information you need to make good choices about keeping your vehicles running well.  He will tell you what’s wrong, how to fix it and how much it’s going to cost. You can count on him for great work at a fair price.
