Schneider Autohaus

Born and raised in California, James (Jim) Schneider’s early life was filled with fun opportunities. Growing up, he seemed to attract to anything with wheels and was interested in what made them work. This love extended to aircraft, which lead to him serving for four years in a Naval Fighter Squadron, where he performed aircraft maintenance on an aircraft carrier. This experience taught Jim the importance of proper maintenance and getting the job done right the first time.

After his service in the United State Navy, Jim attended a two-year trade school to round out his education and become an automotive service professional. He has worked in the trade for over 40 years and has been in business for himself since 2000. He and his family relocated to the Shoals in late 2007 to escape the congestion and rat race of Southern California.

For his first two years in Alabama, Jim spends time outside of the automotive industry, meeting folks and seeking out opportunities in underserved areas for business. What he found was one of the most significant underserved areas — service for European cars— was the one he knew best. This lead to him opening Schneider Autohaus in 2009 to help fill the gaps and provide car owners with the services they need and deserve.
